As a part of the California State Parks annual Training for District Interpreters in 2015, I lead three sessions, beginning with an introduction to visitor studies and evaluation. In the second session, District Interpreters from round the state described visitor studies which they had conducted at their locations and I acted as a discussant to address the strengths of each project and discuss additional approaches or other salient issues. Last, we had an open-ended discussion for attendees to get advice and ideas from me and from each other about projects at their parks and facilities.
