The California Association of Museums, with substantial funding from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, mounted one year of a new model of shared learning or knowledge co-creation, known as the California Networks for Collaboration. This large and complex undertaking involved nearly 400 participants. I was invited to create and oversee an evaluation of the participant experience of this learning model. Results confirmed that, by and large, participants learned a great deal and enjoyed the process of meeting with other museum colleagues for an ongoing program. In many cases, the work load proved to be burdensome.
